In the latest Top-40 ranking from Last Word On Sports, Cincinnati Bengals tackle Orlando Brown, Jr. has made an appearance at number 35, as chosen by our staff. The Bengals’ offensive line has been a sore spot during the Joe Burrow era, with the quarterback facing numerous injuries and sacks. In an effort to improve the situation, the team has made significant moves in the past two offseasons.
Before the 2022 season, Cincinnati added Ted Karras and Alex Cappa to bolster the offensive line. However, it was before the 2023 season that the Bengals made a big splash by bringing in former Kansas City Chiefs left tackle and Super Bowl champion, Orlando Brown, Jr.
In this year’s edition of Last Word on Sports’ Top-40 NFL players ranking, Brown was recognized for his skills and contributions on the field. Coming out of college, Brown was a third-round pick by the Baltimore Ravens and quickly made a name for himself in the league. He helped the Ravens win the AFC North and block for MVP Lamar Jackson during his time in Baltimore.
During his tenure in Kansas City, Brown continued to showcase his talent, earning four consecutive Pro Bowl appearances and a Super Bowl ring. His high level of play resulted in a significant price tag when he signed with Cincinnati.
In his first season with the Bengals, Brown faced some challenges adjusting to Burrow’s play style and did not earn Pro Bowl honors. However, he looks to bounce back this year and return to his Pro Bowl form. Brown aims to form a strong tackle duo with newly-signed Trent Brown and mentor rookie first-round pick, Amarius Mims.
Fans and analysts will be keeping a close eye on Brown this season as he looks to solidify his place as one of the top players in the league. With his experience and talent, he has the potential to make a significant impact on the Bengals’ offensive line and help protect their star quarterback.
